Big Agnes Lost Ranger 15 Mummy Sleeping Bag - PLEASE READ!!! This is a very unique sleeping bag! It is intended to be used in conjunction with an insulated sleeping pad / air mattress. The bottom (underside) of the sleeping bag has ZERO insulation and there is a sleeve to insert an insulated sleeping pad / mattress. When insulation (synthetics and especially down) are compressed, as they would under body weight, it loses some - if not all - of its insulating value. By eliminating the underside's insulation, the overall weight of the bag is reduced as well as allowing it to pack smaller. The idea is that one would already be carrying an insulated sleeping pad, so why carry the extra weight of insulation that is just going to be compressed and rendered ineffective? Regular length, fits most people up to 6 ft tall. The bag's shape is semi-rectangular, sort of a hybrid of a mummy and a straight rectangle. This is done, I assume, to accommodate the shape of the sleeping pads. Your max width for the sleeping pad is 20 inches! I did a test and my Thermarest Trail Scout Regular (72" x 20" x 1") fit like a glove! However, my Klymit Insulated Static V (72" x 23" x 2.5") absolutely did NOT fit. It seems to me that the sleeping bag was not made to accommodate anything much bigger than the Thermarest Trail Scout or something like it. All that being said it makes the bag plenty roomy for the XL, XXL crowd. Bag itself weighs in at 44.4 oz / 2.8 lbs / 1.3 kgStuff sack* (see note below) 5.1 oz / .3 lbs / .15 kg Total weight with stuff sack 49.5 oz / 3.1 lbs / 1.4 kg THE GOOD: This bag is over all in excellent condition! The zipper works great, the drawstring hardware and velcro work well. It is clean and free of any odors. THE BAD: According to the tag, this bag was manufactured in 2010. Most sleeping bags with normal use will lose varying degrees of their warmth over time for a variety of reasons. Personally, as someone that has done plenty of winter camping in their life, I would NOT trust this bag down to its namesake 15˚ F. If I were to use this bag, I would do so only when temperatures were forecasted to stay above freezing, at minimum, even with a very warm pad. That being said, I do think this would make an excellent bag for warmer conditions! *I do not have the original stuff sack, but have a nice 8" x 17" compression stuff sack from a North Face sleeping bag that works well that I will include. I sell a lot of stuff on ebay, but the outdoors and the gear is one of my true passions, please don't hesitate to send me a message with questions / concerns.
